Level 1 the first level is to start teaching all of the basic commands and tasks INDOORS, without any distractions. We do this to give your dog the best chance of learning. Once your dogcan confidently perform all of these obedience commands and tasks inside, then you will be ready for the next phase.
Level 2 is the beginning of your advanced obedience and task training. This means we arestarting to work outside and add distraction to help your dog generalize their service work.
Level 3 this level will test your dogs' fluency with the commands and tasks on an advanced level. It will also start their public access training.
TEST For the final test, you will need to perform all of the 5 obedience commands and 2 tasks of your choosing on an advanced level, meaning outside or in public.
In this course on Psychiatric Service Dog Training, you will learn the essential skills and techniques required to train service dogs for individuals with mental health disorders. You will gain an understanding of the unique role that psychiatric service dogs play in supporting their handlers by providing emotional support, assistance with specific tasks, and a sense of security. Throughout the course, you will learn how to train psychiatric service dogs to perform tasks such as deep pressure therapy, light pressure therapy, embrace, orbit.
By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and tools necessary to train psychiatric service dogs effectively and responsibly. You will learn how to assess a client's specific needs and customize a training plan to meet those needs. You will also gain insights into the legal and ethical considerations surrounding psychiatric service dog training, as well as how to ensure the well-being and welfare of both the service dog and its handler.
